Plain weave

Schema Leinwandbindung (Plain)Plain weave fabrics have the highest sliding strength and are therefore very easy to cut and distortion-free when dry.
They are very well suited for simple shaping.

The frequent crossing of threads in a plain weave inevitably leads to many deviations of the warp and weft threads from the straight yarn axis. The yarns lie undulating in the weave, which slightly reduces the utilisation of yarn tensile and compressive strength in the composite.
