KDSV THX-30 is a brushable, condensation curing 2-component silicone rubber with high elasticity for replicas using cast ceramic, plaster, polyester, polyurethane and epoxy casting resins. The resistance to epoxy resin systems is limited. However, at least 10 mouldings can usually be done before the surface of the silicone rubber shows visible wear. However, this depends on the epoxy resin system used as well as on the temperature during curing and the mechanical stress during demolding.
To be able to apply KDSV THX-30 by spatula, Thickening agent C is used.
- Good brushability (< 0.5 mm film thickness)
- Fast vulcanisation at room temperature
- Good tear strength and tear propagation strength
Technical data:
Possible mixing ratios: 100 : 2 up to 100 : 3 parts by weight silicone : catalyst
Processing time : 50 minutes (100 : 2) / 30 minutes (100 : 3)
Curing time (at 25 °C): 4 - 5 h
Colour: White
Dyeing: R&G Universal Color Pastes (colour differs because of the basic colour of the silicone)
Mixing viscosity: 29.000 ± 2.000 mPa·s
Shore A hardness: 35 ± 2
Tensile strength: > 4.7 N/mm²
Elongation at break: > 350 %
Tear resistance: > 21 N/mm
Linear shrinkage: ≤ 0.3 %
No heat of reaction occurs during vulcanization so that even larger quantities (e.g. 10 kg) can be poured without the risk of overheating.
