The transparent polycarbonate cover seals onto a neoprene ‘0’ ring set into the flange of the PP base. A little grease spread on the ‘0’ ring will assist in establishing the initial vacuum. Within the desiccator is a removable pan for holding a drying agent.
Vacuum release tap/nonreturn valve assembly is included; a specially grooved stopper in this assembly allows air, when required, to be re-admitted very slowly to avoid disturbing the contents.
Usage instructions:
- Remove the cover in PC - insert the samples in the pan.
- Open the vacuum retention valve (PE needle) connect the tube of the pump to the desiccator spigot in order to create a vacuum.
- Close the vacuum retention valve.
Valve for hose with inner-Ø 10 mm, for the connection of a tube with inner-Ø 6 mm please order the adapter set (item no. 390 104-RS) separately.
The desiccator PP / PC is supplied without a perforated plate, which is not required if the desiccator is only used for the venting of resins or silicones. On the one hand, perforated plates serve to enlarge the supporting surface; on the other hand, they are required if substances are to be dried in the desiccator.
